Thank You, Dad

“Thank you, Dad.”

That’s what Sophia said before giving me the sweetest little smile.

But I hadn’t done anything.

IN FACT

I had just finished a bowl of cereal and was working away at the kitchen table.

I thought…

…maybe in her two year old way, she was thanking me…

…for being her dad…

…or for being present to her…

…but I was wrong.

Sophia grabbed my spoon which still had a touch of milk in it.

Sipping it slowly, she let out a sound of satisfaction.

Yup.

Thank you, Dad…for your left overs.

PUT YOUR FAITH IN PERSPECTIVE

In Catholicism you receive the fullness that is the gift of God.

The holy Scriptures…

…the guidance and wisdom of the Church…

…the means to live happy and holy lives.

Others would be thankful for just a sip of that goodness.

Others would love to eat even the scraps that fall from the Master’s table (Matthew 15)

BUT YOU…

…can you appreciate what you have been given?

Go to confession and receive God’s mercy.

Go to the banquet and receive the grace to change this culture.

TODAY

Raise your eyes to heaven and say it with me:

“Thank you, Father.”

Have a great day, friends.

in Christ,

patrick
