Happy Birthday to Me

Tomorrow I celebrate the 34th year of my life on this good, green earth.

And rather than consider what I have not done…

…or conversely what I have accomplished with those years…

…I prefer to simply thank God that I am at all.

So if I don’t pick up the phone when you call…

…or answer that pressing email…

…or do the 101 items that are always sitting on my desk…

…Hey! It’s my birthday and I’m busy being thankful.

OH YEAH

And if you want to give me a gift…

…I have a suggestion for you.

Say a prayer for me. That I may be Holy. That I may be Faithful. And that I pick up my unique cross and follow Him every day that I have left.
