I know the common line out there is that all religions are basically the same…
…but I have to be honest with you…
…they’re really not.
I still recall the ‘expert’ discussion panel that I was a part of some years ago.
There was at the table…
…an expert on Buddhism…
…an expert on Hinduism…
…several others with their various areas of expertise and then…
…there was myself.
Yes, I was supposed to be the Christian voice.
The one who could speak confidently about what Christians have believed since the beginning…
…and if necessary…
…speak about which issues Christians are divided on.
The conversation was amicable enough, but one thing was abundantly clear to all present.
We were definitely not on the same page…
…about most things.
YOU SEE
We Christians completely disagree with most other religions on what happens when we die.
We Christians completely disagree with most other religions about where we humans come from.
We Christians completely disagree with most other religions about why we should all be moral.
And not only that…
…but we actually disagree about what a human is.
Are you surprised?
Don’t be.
It takes the mercy of God to reveal that we are embodied souls,
…created out of love…
…to share eternity with Him.
Christianity is not the result of a lot of thinking.
It is the result of a lot of loving.
So be bold.
Be thankful.
Our religion is not like any other in the world.
